We loved the cottage. The house was extremely clean. It was very comfortable for our girls trip. We had to leave early, but will definitely be back. The owner was very helpful and quick to respond when I had a question. Thank you for allowing us to use your gorgeous cottage. Whitney Texas
The cottage lived up to and surpassed our expectations. This was a wonderful place to stay with a really cool beach vibe. The community is wonderful. Lots of people riding bikes and golf carts and everyone was really friendly. Its located very close to beach access and lighthouse. We rented bikes and only used our car twice during the week. There are shops, a coffeehouse, and a some really good eats close by. We would definitely stay here again.
My two friends and I stayed here for a girls get-away. We fell in love right away with the cottage. All of the small details in the decor were delightful. The beds were some of the most comfortable we have ever stayed in. It is very close to the beach and everything we needed for a walk to the beach and a day at the beach was provided. Thank you for such a wonderful stay - we would definitely return!!
The house was adorable and quaint. I loved the outside porch. Nice walk to the beach and very close to the lighthouse! Also loved the outside shower. I would recommend to anyone going with 2-4 people, amazing little getaway. I will be renting from you again next time we come down!
This cottage was perfect for three girls getaway. It was decorated so cute. The beds were comfortable with the extra pillows. Everything was there, even the beach towels and I loved that a wagon was provided for hauling beach chairs to the beach! The outdoor shower was perfect for the sandy body and the screened in porch was the best. We spent a lot of time there drinking our coffee and just chatting to one another. I absolutely did not want to leave and would definitely recommend this place to anyone. Thanks for making our beach stay so pleasant!
We cannot say enough great things about Evelyn and her lovely cottage. Any time we had questions for Evelyn leading up to our trip, she promptly messaged us back! The pictures do not do the cottage justice. It was perfect for our anniversary trip & less than a 5 minute walk to North Beach. We rented bikes and rode them all around Tybee Island! Highly recommend!
My friends and I spent three nights in this beautiful cottage and could not have asked for a more wonderful experience. The cottage was immaculately clean, beautifully decorated, light and airy, and the beds were very comfortable. We loved the screened porch, and spent some time each day relaxing and solving the problems of the world there. We had no need to call Evelyn as we had no issues, but my dealings with her during the booking process could not have been better. I look forward to a return trip to the Cottage on the Green.
A wonderful cottage in a fabulous location! We stayed here to experience both the beach and urban delights of Savannah, which is a short drive away. That plan worked well. Great walking neighborhood, with good restaurants and the beach nearby. As an architect, space and place matter. The daylight streams in through the many windows - a most welcome respite from the northern gray that we left behind. The kitchen is well-equipped. The lighting, heating and technology are very up-to-date, and the beds and seating are comfortable. In a relatively compact area, this cottage provides a lovely variety of spaces - to read, hang out, or go.
THE LOCATION ON THE ISLAND IS PERFECT . WE COULD WALK TO THE LIGHTHOUSE AND THE BEECH IN 5 MINUTES . THE HOUSE ITSELF HAD VERY COMFORTABLE BEDS AND PLENTY OF ROOM FOR US. WE ARE 3 WOMEN BETWEEN 75 AND 85 YEARS OF AGE ALL OF US HEALTHY AND ACTIVE . OUR ONLY CONCERN WAS THE BATHTUB WITH THE SHOWER . IT WOULD BE SAFER IF IT HAD A COUPLE OF SAFETY HANDLES ,MAYBE ON THE WALL NEXT TO THE SHOWER .
This cottage was so cute! We loved the way it was decorated, it had everything that you need in it. It was a short little walk to the beach so it was in a perfect location. We really enjoyed all the history of the area and the way this house was fixed up. We would definitely go back here! . Mrs. Evelyn was very easy to work with.
We stayed in both Cottages on the Green for a week, and they are cute, clean and comfortable...in short we got exactly what we expected from the pictures and reviews. As frequent V.R.B.O. users we're always hopeful the property lives up to the advertising. The Cottages are exactly as pictured and the reviews are spot on. We had a great time, and the Cottages have our highest recommendation.
The cottage is adorable. Loved the decor and very comfortable. We loved the location being on the northside and a cute little older neighborhood. Easy walk to the beach and located right behind beautiful and historic Officers Row. Also an easy walk to the lighthouse! We enjoyed our stay and will return!
Loved every moment of our time in this lovely cottage on Tybee. It is beautifully decorated and has everything that you would ever need. Whether you are hanging out on the awesome porch or walking to the beach- it was perfect. Evelyn was easy to work with and very accommodating. Let's just put it this way- WE WILL BE BACK!
Had a great time. Nice screened in porch. To my surprise, I used the outside shower quite a bit. The cottage is well lit both with natural and electrical light. Could use some labels on the light switches. We didn't find the kitchen dimmer until our last night. The location is quiet, yet close to the action. We rented bikes which makes getting around and parking easy. Being backed up to the park is delightful.
Super cute cottage that was nicely decorated. Very smart design that incorporated the original features of the home in a modern updated way. Very bright with lots of natural light. Outdoor shower was a nice feature that helped keep sand outside. Screened-in porch also nice feature that I wished we used more while there. Easy checkin process. Short 5 minute walk to the beach and nearby restaurant, North Beach. No complaints with our stay. Perfect size for family of 3 or 4. One bedroom has queen and the second has 2 twins built-in beds. We would come again in a heartbeat and stay here. Thanks :)
This was the perfect place to stay! It was sooooo cute inside. We ate on the screened in porch every night. It was a perfect location too. We walked to the beach several times a day and enjoyed the park right behind the house. We found a farmers market at the light house the first night we stayed and the 2nd night they were doing military training at the light house. Very close to Savannah too! I've already recommended it to several of our friends. Will definitely stay again on our next trip to Tybee!!!
Spending Christmas at Tybee and such a pleasant and relaxing experience. The beds were very comfortable and the and the space throughout the cotttage was well utilized. We loved the whole experience and hope to return some day and stay there again.
We arrived at the cottage, 2 weeks after the hurricane not knowing what we would find. We were pleasantly surprised. The cottage was just perfect. The attention to detail was outstanding. The beds were comfortable. The only thing I would change would be to add darkening shades to the bedroom windows. The light curtains were lovely, but being light sleepers, we woke up as soon as the sun rose.
From the moment we stepped through the front door, it was love at first sight! The cottage was fresh & clean, decorated perfectly for a beach cottage. The vintage touches just made it perfect & our stay was so comfortable & relaxing- exactly what we needed. Loved the closeness to the beach, an easy 5 min. walk. We enjoyed every moment on Tybee Island & made two day trips to Savannah. This was our first trip to Tybee Island & we came home with many wonderful memories!
My wife and I had a great stay at Cottage on the Green A. The cottage is very cute and is so well appointed. It was almost like being at home it felt so comfortable. It was convenient to the beach. We had a wonderful visit and highly recommend this cottage. We hope to come back soon with the rest of our family.
Our stay at Cottage on the Green was so fun! Evelyn was so nice to work with in booking our stay. Everything was very clean. This is very important to our family. When vacationing we want to feel at home . . . only better! Cottage on the Green provided that and we were very comfortable. Our young boys enjoyed the bunk room and the master suite was private. We loved the outdoor shower! The porch is the perfect place for lunch, an afternoon nap, or late night ice-cream. ;) The cottage is a short walk to the beach. It was a treat! We hope to stay again! Thank you, Evelyn! :)
Cottage was absolutely perfect. Stayed 5 days for a girls trip. Decorate beautifully, AC worked well even though it was record heat! Incredibly comfortable beds. Outdoor shower a real treat. Kitchen was well equipped and spacious. Loved the screened in patio. Neighbors were especially nice and cottage had great access to beach and local restaurants. No complaints AT All! Would go back and stay at this cottage In a heartbeat! Evelyn very easy to work with and communicate with. Love love love this place and Tybee in general!
We had a great week at the cottage. The decor was cute and I was not disappointed! Short walks to the beach, lighthouse, and north end activities. Beds were comfortable. Indoor shower pressure wasn't great for rinsing long hair, as it's the claw foot tub spout where the water travels upward to the "rain" style of head, so I took most of my showers in the outdoor shower off the bathroom but that's really my only minor complaint and it wouldn't stop me from staying here again in the future. Tybee is great. We spent a good chunk of each day at the beaches, which were not crowded. The food was great and I'm going to miss the fresh seafood when I'm back in Illinois. The people were friendly and it's a short trip over to Savannah, so we had dinner at an Irish pub one evening and walked River Street. It was a great trip and the rental was lovely, we were all happy with our choice!
The moment we walked in we all felt an immediate sense of peace and relaxation. Thank you Evelyn for sharing your beautiful home with our family. Conveniently located to everything you could possibly need. A quick walk to the beach, and easy access to the Sugar Shack, Theatre, lighthouse or park. A quiet, secluded interior where we got lost in games of yahtzee, puzzles and lots of summer reading. Our second summer trip actually outdid our first. Our daughter is already planning next years' trip.
My family had a wonderful time staying in the Cottage on the Green! It was the perfect size for 2 adults and 2 kids. The moment you enter you will appreciate the charm, decoration, and design of the space. Everything was well thought out down to the details, and it was very comfortable. As you could imagine Tybee is very hot in the summer and I was glad to see that the air conditioning worked perfectly, and kept us cool and comfortable all day and all week long. The few nice surprises I really enjoyed were having high-quality TV's with Netflix accounts already hooked-up, so I got to binge watch some old Cheers episodes when we were hanging out in the cottage. A brand new dishwasher. High-end front-loading washer and dryer that we used daily. And, perhaps most importantly, VERY comfortable beds. The twin beds in particular were to die for. The pillow top mattress added so much comfort. A couple things that would help...I really wish the bathroom door to the shower had a code lock on it so we could enter from the outdoor shower after returning from the beach. As it is, someone needs to tiptoe through the house to unlock the door. I also wish there was a wagon that we could have used to take to the beach. It's close, but far enough to where if you a lugging around towels, chairs, shelters, beach toys, boogie boards, and coolers, it makes a short walk feel really long. Also, A couple side notes: Very first impression was a little off because the weeds were really overgrown on the front porch. Would be good to clean those up. And the wifi wasn't really showing up/working on our side for some reason. My brothers family could use it in Cottage B, but didn't work in A. No biggie though, we didn't need it anyway...it was time for us to unplug. All in all, an incredible place. Top 2 beach cottage I've stayed in! Thanks Evelyn, we loved it!
My guests are telling me the wifi is working perfectly now. Gardening has been done, they weren't weeds but overgrown vines. Lush vegetation grows quickly in this climate! So glad this guest enjoyed their stay.
So close to North Beach, a great bar/grill and the lighthouse. The cottage was beyond expectations in charm! Every need was met in supplies and convenience. Evelyn was always available to answer our calls/emails, but most questions were answered in the 2 FAQ emails she sent prior to the trip.
This cottage was perfect for my family! And so cute! We really enjoyed the screened-in porch, and the fact that we could walk to so many places. That was fantastic and made it totally worth it (not to mention how nicely decorated and furnished the cottage was!). There was a park/playground right behind us. The lighthouse, beach, and great restaurants all less than a ten minute walk. Many thanks to Evelyn for such a lovely stay!
My husband and I stayed in Cottage on the Green with our two young children for our 2016 Spring Break getaway. We were very happy with the premises, ideally laid out for our little family with the queen bed in the master bedroom with en suite and the two little singles in the smaller bedroom near the front door with the additional bathroom down the hall for the kids to share. The cottage was clean and cheerful and decorated with such aplomb that we felt we were living in a photo shoot. Even the light bulbs were perfectly matched to each light fixture! The screened-in porch provided a great place for dining and just hanging out. The outdoor shower was ideal for maintaining low levels of sand inside (plus the kids just loved showering outside!). The master en suite has a beautiful claw foot tub and black-and-white patterned tiled floor - everything was so stylish. There is bespoke art throughout with each detail very thoughtfully arranged. We spent many an evening on the comfy sofa watching television and had zero trouble accessing Netflix, Hulu, etc. such that we had our pick of shows for every member of the family. Beach towels (stylish ones, obviously!) are provided, along with a few beach chairs, some boogie boards and also a bucket-and-spade set for the little ones. The location really is ideal, with super easy beach access. The Cottage on the Green is a duplex with two separate rentals which are entirely separate but linked via a breezeway such that it would be perfect for two families traveling together who each wanted their own space or perhaps one small family like ours with grandparents in tow, for whom this layout would be ideal. As it was, there was a lovely family staying in the other side with children substantially older than ours, none of which was a problem: It is easy to cordon off the breezeway with the drop cloth curtains provided whenever one wants a bit of privacy. Evelyn made things easy for us with her excellent communication and responsiveness. We loved our trip and will definitely return!
My husband and I spent my spring break at this lovely and cozy cottage. Everything was immaculately clean and beautifully decorated. We thoroughly enjoyed the outdoor shower, the porch, and listening to oldies and classical music on the cable music channel. The perfect weather made our stay even better!
Unit A at the Cottage on the Green was perfect for us. It was very clean and comfortable and we loved the location. The beach is just a short walk away and whatever we could not reach on foot, we covered by bike, from Jim's Bike Shop. We found people in Tybee Island very friendly. Our favorite restaurants were the Crab Shack and the Sundae Cafe, and we enjoyed walking and biking everywhere. A couple of days before our arrival it looked like it was going to rain every day of our stay and when we asked Evelyn whether we could stay an extra day (hoping for some sun), she let us prolong our stay at no cost. That was quite a treat! Thank you, Evelyn. We will keep this adorable house on our list of great getaways in the Southeast.
What a beautiful cottage! From the moment we stepped in it felt like home ... Didn't want to leave! We spent the week exploring Savannah and lovely Tybee Island. We fell in love with not only the cottage, but the area as well! I would highly recommend this quaint little cottage to get away from the hectic world we live in, to relax and unwind. Perfect vacation week .. Thank you!
Our family had a wonderful time in this quaint, restful cottage. It is within walking distance to the beach and lighthouse. The neighborhood is quiet and shady. The cottage is decorated stylishly and was spotlessly clean on our arrival. We appreciated the washer and dryer, the outside shower, and the beach towels. We would love to make it back and stay longer next time!
This was the quintessential cottage --- from decor, to location, to the welcoming atmosphere . The stripped wooden floors, old sash windows and delightfully eclectic jumble of vintage furnishings --- you can feel the love that was applied with each coat of paint. Truly a treasure of Tybee Island. A quick walk to the laid back north end beach .... and then back "home" to all the comforts --- luxurious beds, wonderful spaces to rest and dream and all of the modern conveniences brilliantly hidden.... And the outdoor showers --- I just don't have the time or space to profess our love of these gems enough. This cottage is not to be missed. While in town , don't miss The Breakfast Club for breakfast and (within walking distance) The Tybee Island Fish Camp for dinner. We will make it our goal to return to The Cottage On The Green !! We were fortunate enough to experience both "A" and "B" as we rented both sides to accommodate our friend during this wonderful vacation. Thank you Evelyn for making our stay so easy and memorable !! Thank you so much for this great review. I love to know that Cottage on the Green has made wonderful memories for my guests. And thank you for the restaurant recommendations which are so helpful for guests planning their Tybee adventure. I look forward to having you back. Evelyn
Such a great cottage! We loved the decor and the screened in porch. It was perfect for our family of four (2 adults, 7yr old and 5yr old). The kids loved the close proximity to the beach. My daughter got sick the night before we were driving back to Michigan and Evelyn was kind enough to let us stay one extra night free of charge so she could rest and we could get some much needed sleep before our long drive. Thank you so much!
Absolutely perfect. That's how my wife and I would describe this place. We stayed at The Cottage for a long weekend and absolutely enjoyed our time. Everything about this cottage is perfect. Most of the time, I feel that photos make places look better than they really are - but not in this case! As cute as the photos are, they do not this place justice. As far as location goes, we could not have picked a better spot. It's located in a quiet neighborhood, within a 2 minute walk to the beach and a great restaurant! You're also super close to the famous Tybee lighthouse! We enjoyed relaxing on the screened in patio as well. This was our first visit to Tybee and we will definitely back!
This cottage could not have been more warm and inviting. From the moment we arrived (for the long New Years Eve weekend) we fell in love. The interior is decorated so well, but at the same time, so comfortably. The kitchen was well stocked for cooking meals, making coffee and fixing drinks! We cooked several meals and dined inside at a charming table (loved the fresh flowers and candle) and outside on the screened porch under twinkle lights. The bath tub is wonderful for soaking but also has a large rain shower head. Or you can shower in the outdoor shower off the master bathroom under the stars! The location is perfect at the North Shore of Tybee near restaurants, gastro-pubs, finer dining and dives! It is also just minutes to the Lighthouse and several beach walk-overs. We had two beach cruiser bikes from Tim's Beach Gear (be sure and request baskets and cup holders) and that made getting around easy & fun. The manager is Exceptionally responsive, kind and made very accommodation to ensure our stay was stress-free. I hate to give such high marks for fear it will always be booked…but it is just so wonderful, I hope everyone gets a chance to enjoy it as much as Edward and I did!! Thank you Evelyn for assuring we brought in the New Year with felicity! We needed it and you delivered! Anita in Atlanta, GA.
